About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team The Global Infrastructure Practice at S&P Global Ratings covers infrastructure and energy credits across power, utilities, and related asset classes, partnering with issuers, intermediaries, and investors across Latin America and globally. The team brings together experienced infrastructure specialists who value analytical precision, sector expertise, and a collaborative approach to delivering credit opinions that market participants rely on. Responsibilities and Impact Team Contribution & Capability Building Coach junior team members on credit analysis, data discipline, and analytical tooling, building team consistency through shared standards and repeatable analytical processes. Identify and propose process improvements that reduce manual effort and strengthen AI-enabled productivity through responsible automation adoption with appropriate governance controls. Core Analytical & Delivery Lead end-to-end credit analysis for assigned credits, managing portfolio surveillance and updates by synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context into clear, decision-useful risk insights. Apply large language model tools and automation in recurring analytical workflows, reviewing inputs, reconciling metrics, and documenting assumptions to ensure adherence to methodology and operating procedures. Stakeholder & Market Engagement Translate complex data, analysis, and research into clear, evidence-based narratives for clients, senior stakeholders, and rating committees. Build and maintain effective relationships with issuers, investors, and market participants through consistent, well-grounded communication and delivery. Risk Management and Operating Ensure adherence to analytical methodology, confidentiality standards, and data governance requirements, escalating emerging issues early with clear options and recommendations. Contribute to the design, testing, and rollout of controlled automation workflows, supporting the definition of appropriate boundaries between automated and human-led analytical processes. What We're Looking For Required Skills and Experience An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis within a commercial bank, investment bank, asset management firm, rating agency, or audit firm. Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, apply accounting concepts, and prepare detailed financial forecasts. Demonstrated experience managing, interpreting, and synthesizing financial data for analytical purposes, with a high standard of accuracy under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis, including formulas, pivot tables, and data filtering. Language requirements: English — Required, Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally). Portuguese — Preferred, Professional working proficiency (able to communicate clearly at work in everyday situations and write professional messages). Preferred or Helpful Experience Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking. Experience in the power, utilities, or infrastructure asset classes. Proficiency in Excel VBA, financial modeling, or programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or C++. Experience mentoring junior team members or contributing to the leadership of small project teams. Demonstrated contribution to process improvement or efficiency initiatives within an analytical or financial services environment. Additional Information We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
