Job Description: Role Overview   We are   seeking   a highly skilled   Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and   optimize   database solutions across our Azure cloud data platform. This role requires strong hands-on   expertise   in Azure SQL Managed Instance, performance tuning, ETL development, and cloud-based data integration. The ideal candidate will work independently on complex database solutions and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.   Key Responsibilities   Database Design & Development   Design, develop, and   maintain   database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.   Build scalable and high-performing solutions using   Azure SQL Managed Instance   (experience with SQL Hyperscale is a plus).   Implement and support ETL solutions using   SSIS .   Develop and   maintain   reports and datasets using   SSRS .   Data Integration & Cloud Services   Develop and manage data pipelines using   Azure Data Factory (ADF) .   Manage SQL   Agent   jobs, scheduling, and automation processes.   Collaborate with application and cloud teams to ensure reliable and secure data solutions.   Performance Optimization   Perform query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.   Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in transactional and analytical systems.   Implement monitoring and performance best practices.   Collaboration   Work within Agile/Scrum teams,   participating   in sprint planning and technical design discussions.   Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.   Required Qualifications   5–8+ years of experience in SQL Server development.   Strong   expertise   in   Azure SQL Managed Instance .   Hands-on experience with SSIS, SSRS, SQL Agent, and ADF.   Advanced SQL skills including performance tuning and optimization.   Strong database design and data modeling experience.   Experience working in Agile environments.   Preferred Skills   Exposure to SQL Hyperscale.   CI/CD for database deployments (Azure DevOps or similar).   Familiarity with Azure Storage, Key Vault, and monitoring tools.   Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools.   Employee Type: Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
