At Dexcom, our mission is to empower people to take control of their health. The Senior Director, Lean (Kaizen & Continuous Improvement) will lead the enterprise-wide continuous improvement strategy, embedding a culture of daily problem-solving, operational excellence, and frontline empowerment across Operations, Quality, and enabling functions. This leader will drive sustainable improvements that enhance product quality, reliability, and patient outcomes
Where you come in:
You lead and scale Dexcom’s Kaizen and Continuous Improvement strategy across global operations and quality organizations
You embed Daily Management Systems (DMS), leader standard work, and structured problem-solving (A3, root cause analysis)
You champion a Gemba-driven culture, ensuring leaders are actively engaged in frontline problem-solving
You facilitate high-impact Kaizen events focused on quality, compliance, cost, and delivery improvements
You partner cross-functionally (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D) to prioritize and execute improvement initiatives
You ensure alignment of CI initiatives with regulatory requirements (FDA QSR, ISO 13485) and audit readiness
You build and mentor a network of Lean/CI practitioners and change agents
You drive sustainability of improvements through governance, metrics, and follow-through mechanisms
In addition to functional Lean leadership, this role serves as a Global Lean practitioner, leading and deploying Kaizen initiatives across the enterprise to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What makes you successful:
You have proven experience driving enterprise-level Kaizen transformations in regulated industries (medical device, pharma, biotech preferred)
You have deep expertise in Lean methodologies (TPS, A3, VSM, 5 Whys, etc.)
You have experience working in FDA-regulated and ISO-compliant environments
You have a strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership
You have demonstrated success driving cultural and behavioral change at scale
Certification in Lean/Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred)

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of industry experience
Typically requires 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry
Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Examples of English language proficiency may include (but are not limited to): ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to verbally communicate with leadership, employees, and auditors; ability to comprehend spoken language.
Physical Demands:
Employees in this position may be required to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time; frequent use of the hands, fingers, wrist, and greater arm to handle small materials, tools, boxes, and trays; lifting and carrying objects up to 50Ibs; occasional overhead reaches and lifts; occasional lifts and reaches below the knee; occasional pushing and pulling of materials and objects with moderate forces; occasional crouching/kneeling, twisting, and squatting movements.

Employees may be exposed to the following environmental conditions while performing this job: work near moving parts, work with chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, exposure to intense light and/or intermittent light, fast-paced work, and elevated noise levels.

$199,600.00 - $332,600.00
