POSITION SUMMARY Relocation Assistance available up to $18,000 Pay range: $185,744.00/yr - $301,849.60/yr    About the Department: We’re a small community hospital with many of the resources available to big hospitals; specialized NICU providers on site, in unit, 24/7 to attend high risk deliveries and address emergencies as well as 24/7 OB Hospitalist Coverage and 24/7 CRNA Ensure an outstanding patient experience in private rooms, where patients can labor, deliver, recover and be discharged all from the same room for their comfort Our holistic approach includes welcoming doulas and midwives, participating in the Home Birth Transfer Partnership, supporting pain management alternatives and providing a jacuzzi tub in every room Promote family-centered support through the addition of two Community Health Workers and an expanded lactation team which includes some evening and weekend coverage Find fulfillment in serving Hillsboro and its surrounding communities, located in Oregon’s most diverse county The Senior Director of Nursing Services is a transformational leader responsible for the strategic growth, operational excellence, and clinical innovation of the entire continuum of Maternal, NICU, and Pediatric Programs, reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) with matrixed accountability to VP, Ambulatory Services. This role bridges visionary program development with disciplined execution to position the organization as the region’s premier destination for family-centered care and acts as a big-systems thinker to design and execute sustainable change across a complex, multi-site portfolio.  All decisions and actions are grounded in ethical principles as outlined by the American Nurses Association, Oregon State Board of Nursing Practice Act, and the Nurse Executive Competencies developed by the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL). Contributes to a positive work environment that promotes HMC values. Function Management. Directs and coordinates the activities of assigned departments/functions. Functional management duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Spearheads high-reliability initiatives across ambulatory clinics, maternal care, NICU, and pediatric service lines, ensuring clinical outcomes consistently exceed national safety and quality benchmarks; mandates strategic programs for maternal morbidity reduction, neonatal outcome optimization, and infant safety. Drives specialized neonatal priorities, including the advancement of neurodevelopmental care practices, skin-to-skin programs, and human milk feeding rates. Oversees total compliance with clinical best practices, accreditation requirements, and hospital-based regulatory standards. Collaborates with Case Management to ensure safe care transitions, including robust NICU discharge support and neonatal follow-up program coordination. Orchestrates initiatives that measurably enhance the patient and family experience, utilizing family-integrated care models and parent empowerment programs to position the organization as a provider of choice. Monitors operational performance. Takes action to address opportunities and/or deficiencies. Leads and/or actively engages in performance improvement and quality initiatives. Oversees contracted service providers to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and appropriate service levels are maintained. Applies Lean methodologies and evidence-based practices to standardize care workflows and eliminate waste across maternal and pediatric service lines. Leads process improvement initiatives to reduce length of stay (LOS), optimize throughput, and eliminate preventable harm. Benchmarks high-performing national programs to identify and adapt clinical innovations for the local patient population. Fosters an environment where frontline staff are empowered to challenge the status quo and share ideas for safety and workflow enhancement. Champions the use of real-time dashboards and KPIs to identify operational gaps and measure the ROI of improvement efforts. Cultivates a culture of curiosity by encouraging teams to pilot new ideas, learn from patient encounters, and scale successful clinical outcomes. Builds and maintains effective working relationships. Advises and consults with executives, managers, and other personnel. Serves as a liaison across disciplines. Participates as an active member of various committees; leads work groups, projects and committees as assigned.   Maintains professional skills, subject matter expertise, and awareness of regulatory changes, compliance issues, innovations and developments, through research and training/continuing education opportunities. Stays abreast of trends and best practices.  Maintains programs and records in good order, as required for efficient and effective operations.  People Management . Provides leadership oversight and direct supervision for assigned staff to support high quality care and services, enhance patient/customer satisfaction, and drive results. Executes leadership and supervision tasks in an accurate, equitable, timely and effective manner to meet service and performance expectations. People management duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Directly leads and coaches a high-performing team of nurse leaders and managers, fostering a culture of professional growth and continuous learning.
