The primary responsibility of the Senior Landman is to handle an assigned geographical area of Diamondback Energy’s holdings. The Senior Landman will be responsible for the leadership of an asset area and will coordinate with teams and/or technical professionals to ensure the company objectives and goals are met.
Job Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to
Manage complex land assignments
Make recommendations regarding complex agreements, leases, and contracts
Provide technical and strategic advice on complex land negotiations
Review of legal and financial obligations
Ensure company drill schedule expectations are met within the asset area with all company disciplines
Manage brokers and attorneys in title and curative matters as appropriate
Review AFE’s for accuracy and clear title for drilling locations
Due diligence of acquisitions and divestitures
Provide guidance to support staff and mentorship to fellow landmen
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related field
Must have Direct In-House Land Experience managing Rig Schedules
At least five (5) years of progressive Land experience with at least three (3) of those being in-house
At least four (4) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
High-level understanding of Land and exploration and production issues
Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Permian Basin experience preferred
Member of AAPL
Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impact
Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrate effective leadership skills
Possess a strong attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of a business situation
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proven track record of being able to problem solve and think creatively
Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
