Maintenance Technician Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Technician supporting the Huntsman Building Solutions (HBS) Division located in Arlington, Texas . This position will report to the Facilities Manager .
Job Scope The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a chemical manufacturing facility by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process and facility equipment. This hands-on, multi-craft role supports polyurethane systems and chemical blending, filling, and packaging operations within a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment. The incumbent will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
In summary, as the Maintenance Technician, you will: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process and facility equipment, including pumps, compressors, agitators, heat exchangers, tanks, valves, and packaging systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation, and control systems.
Support polyurethane and blended chemical manufacturing operations, including material transfer, metering, blending, and loading/unloading systems.
Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and energy isolation requirements.
Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and execute repairs.
Perform welding, pipefitting, and light fabrication activities to support maintenance projects and equipment reliability.
Document maintenance activities, equipment history, labor, and parts usage within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Participate in root cause analyses, reliability programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Respond to equipment failures and process disruptions to restore safe production operations quickly and efficiently.
Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Maintain housekeeping and organization standards in accordance with 5S principles.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, company, and site-specific safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience , preferably within a chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other process-regulated environment.
Demonstrated multi-craft maintenance skills in mechanical systems and at least one additional discipline, including electrical, instrumentation, or controls.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, seals, valves, and rotating equipment.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of industrial safe work practices, including LOTO, confined space entry, and permit-to-work systems.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency call-outs as required.

Preferred Qualifications Technical/Vocational Certificate or Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
Previous experience in a PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing environment.
Experience within polyurethane or specialty chemical manufacturing operations.
Working knowledge of PLC-based control systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and process instrumentation.
Certified welding experience and/or millwright certification.
Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent maintenance software.
Experience participating in reliability-centered maintenance and root cause analysis programs.
Working Environment Work is performed within an industrial chemical manufacturing facility with exposure to chemicals, noise, heat, cold, dust, and changing weather conditions.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary; must be able to meet medical and fit-testing requirements.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at elevated heights, and enter confined spaces.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, reaching, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
Must be able to work safely around moving machinery, pressurized systems, and energized equipment.
Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call assignments as required.
