Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense. Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Product Definition Checker to support the Mechanical Systems, Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) organization. In this role, you will ensure engineering models, drawings, and technical documentation accurately communicate design intent and comply with Product Definition standards before release to manufacturing. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams while serving as a technical mentor and champion for engineering quality. What You Will Do: Review and validate 3D models, engineering drawings, and product definition packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards. Create and maintain parametric 3D models, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation using Siemens NX. Apply and interpret ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure manufacturability and design intent. Prepare engineering release packages, change documentation, and configuration updates using Teamcenter. Partner with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders to resolve product definition issues and support successful product releases. Mentor junior Product Definition professionals and promote best practices in quality, standard work, and continuous improvement. Travel Requirement: 10% (Domestic). What You Will Learn: Advance your expertise in aerospace Product Definition standards, GD&T, Model-Based Definition (MBD), and engineering documentation practices. Expand your proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter while supporting the complete product lifecycle from design through production release. Gain deeper knowledge of aircraft engine systems, including mechanical externals, fuel, lubrication, air systems, bearing compartments, and gear drive components. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex design, manufacturing, and product definition challenges. Develop technical leadership skills through mentoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and contributions to engineering excellence. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree in Drafting/Design or in a related field with 7 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes experience in Product Definition, mechanical drafting, or engineering documentation, working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation, and/or experience creating or reviewing mechanical drawings and assembly documentation. Qualifications We Prefer: Advanced proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) and engineering change management. Aerospace or defense industry experience supporting mechanical systems or engine hardware. Knowledge of fuel, lubrication, air systems, bearing compartments, gear drive systems, or engine externals. Department/Segment Overview: Mechanical System Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) : Mechanical System Product Definition is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all large structural castings, bearing housings, oil nozzles, bearing compartment hardware, oil tanks and gears for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
