Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders to successfully drive technical execution for the critical F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Mechanical System project team. Based within our Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) organization, you will lead cross-functional engineering projects supporting the development and delivery of advanced aerospace propulsion systems. You will drive project execution by managing scope, schedule, budget, technical risks, and stakeholder communication while partnering with engineering, program management, operations, and leadership teams to deliver successful program outcomes. What You Will Do: Lead cross-functional engineering projects by managing scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables to achieve program milestones on time and within budget. Prepare and present technical and program status updates to CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team) and Pratt & Whitney leadership, clearly communicating progress, risks, and required actions. Lead engineering change execution, risk assessments, and mitigation planning to reduce cost, schedule, and technical exposure across the project lifecycle. Analyze performance data to identify issues, develop solutions, and optimize efficiency while ensuring minimal disruption to project operations. Support proposal efforts by developing accurate BOEs (Basis of Estimate) and preparing Earned Value Management (EVM) reports for tasks requiring EVMS compliance. Travel Requirement: 5% (Domestic). What You Will Learn: Lead complex engineering programs supporting next-generation aerospace technologies. Develop expertise in aerospace program execution, engineering change management, and Earned Value Management (EVM). Build cross-functional leadership skills through collaboration with engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and program management teams. Gain exposure to executive-level program reviews and strategic business decision-making. Expand technical and project leadership capabilities within a global aerospace organization. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience within the aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, military, or logistics industries leading complex engineering projects or cross-functional technical teams managing technical risks, engineering execution, or product development activities. Qualifications We Prefer: Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Results-oriented with the ability to drive tasks through to successful completion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Microsoft Project, or other project management software. Demonstrated sound judgment, professionalism, and business maturity. Department/Segment Overview: Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) : The MSEN Engineering organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.
