Overview
Join a mission-driven team supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in Alexandria, VA. As an Armed Sergeant , you’ll play a critical leadership role in safeguarding federal personnel, property, and operations. Responsibilities
Provide Leadership & Direction: Deliver clear instructions to security personnel and ensure all officers are fully trained, familiar with the facility, and understand their assigned duties and post requirements.
Oversee Post Staffing & Scheduling: Manage daily post assignments to ensure full coverage at all times, including planning and coordinating coverage for vacations, sick leave, call‑offs, and other staffing needs.
Ensure Operational Flexibility: Maintain availability to work flexible hours—including evenings, weekends, and holidays—to meet mission requirements and ensure continuous site coverage.
Support Mission Readiness: Assist in maintaining a high standard of operational performance, professionalism, and adherence to established protocols, policies, and contract requirements.
Perform Additional Duties: Execute other responsibilities as assigned to support overall site operations and security mission success.
Qualifications
Armed Security Guard certification through DCJS (Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Armed Security Guard or law enforcement officer.
At least one (1) year of prior supervisory experience in a security, military, or law enforcement environment.
Active Secret security clearance required at the time of hire.
Minimum age of 21 in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Current CPR certification through the American Red Cross.
Ability to successfully meet all Physical Agility Test (PAT) standards as required by the customer, including:
1.5‑mile run completed within 17 minutes, 30 seconds
19 push‑ups in two minutes
Completion of the MMPI psychological assessment
Strong professional presence, reliability, and the ability to lead security personnel in a mission‑critical environment.
Ability to successfully meet all Physical Agility Test (PAT) standards as required by the customer
Completion and passing of the MMPI psychological assessment
Estimated Salary/Wage USD $33.88/Hr.
