Shipping Supervisor

POSITION DESCRIPTION Rochester Division Title:                    Shipping Supervisor Reports to:         Plant Manager Department:      Production Position Purpose: Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department and managing inventory. Duties & Responsibilities: Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below: Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times Maintain high level of housekeeping in the warehouse and shipping department Correspond directly with customers and sales Monitor shipping schedule. Member of the planning team Maintain filing system Process customer pickups as required Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts Administer the truck scheduling system  Develop delivery schedules for all orders Recommend changes for improvements in efficiency and performance Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed Compile a daily performance report and distribute Responsible meeting operational budget including all shipping related costs (Freight, Pallets….) Contact and schedule outside carriers as required Assist in warehouse as needed Spot trailers as needed Reconcile daily shipping log Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions Ensure all projects are completed timely and accurately Work from written and verbal directions Maintain neat and orderly work area Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting Full inventory two times per year Cycle counting inventory monthly Maintain the aged inventory process Responsible for the forklift fleet in shipping Responsible for the proper maintenance and care of the yard horse Attends profit projection meeting weekly Skill Set: Basic math and computer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Organizational skills Forklift experience Qualifications Desired: 5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred High school diploma / GED About BCI Buckeye Corrugated, Inc.
