Overview
NaphCare is hiring a Social Services Clerk to join our team of medical professionals working at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections facility located in North Brunswick, NJ.
Pay rates vary based on shift, site needs, and experience and range from $18.71 to $19.70. Shift and hours vary based on coverage needs and can be discussed upon interview.
The Social Services Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Director of Social Services and Health Services Administrator.
Responsibilities
As the Social Services Clerk , your key responsibilities include and may not be limited to:
Responsible for managing all incoming calls, direct/ transfer calls to appropriate staff, retrieve all voicemails daily and return calls, as necessary
Utilize Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, to prepare various reports, memos and correspondence as needed. Also utilize specific software (X-Jail, TechCare) as needed
Perform various clerical and administrative functions to include tracking supplies, utilizing purchase orders for outside vendors and distributing mail
Assist Director of Social Services and Senior Case Manager with scheduling
Assist Custody with Courtline documentation
Responsible to shred all documentation containing Patient Health Information (PHI)
Responsible for organizing and managing holiday services for inmates and coordinating services and food delivery with outside agencies
Coordinate with Records Department for archiving files and reports
Coordinate volunteer services
Qualifications
Must hold a High School Diploma or GED certificate
Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Excellent skills in the areas of organization, attention to detail, time management and an ability to manage multiple tasks
Must have a valid CPR card
Must have one (1) year of clerical experience, preferably in a correctional setting
Minimum two (2) years college preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all corporate policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
Working Conditions:
Must have the physical and mental capacity to work in an environment that may be less than pristine, as well as manage and maintain physical and mental health when encountering stressful situations.
