Description of Work
We are currently recruiting for Clinical Social Workers at Whitaker PRTF. As part of the Child and Family Services Section, it provides residential care, supervision, and educational services for 18 youth ages 13-17 with complex behavioral, emotional, psychological, and neurological disorders. It also provides community liaison support services for students and families with a staffing complement of 72 full-time clinical, educational, residential and support positions.

Salary Range: $52,592.00 - $92,036.00
A Sign-on bonus of $5,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices, and their application to complex problems associated with adult psychiatric treatment
Knowledge of a wide range of behavioral and psychosocial problems and their treatment
Knowledge of individual, family and group dynamics
Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies associated with adult psychiatric treatment
Skill is needed in establishing rapport with clients and in applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client's problems

This position is Exempt from certain provisions of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., flexible; however, flexibility is required to meet facility needs.
*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus* To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
** Please Note: LCSW-A applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
