The Ad Ops team at Roku plays a crucial role in driving the success of Roku's monetization strategy. This team is responsible for excellence in execution for our Direct IO and Programmatic businesses. This team books ad campaigns, QAs creatives, prepares reporting, and manages Deal IDs, using 1st and 3rd party ad tech. We are a very collaborative team, working closely with our Client Services, Inventory, and Product partners to meet advertisers' needs, while also optimizing and streamlining internal processes. What is the role? The Solutions Engineer for Platform Experiences is responsible for designing, scoping, and implementing technical solutions for experiences that showcase platform capabilities and create unique monetization opportunities. This role partners closely with Product, Ad Ops, and Engineering to build custom solutions from initial concept through launch and post-launch optimization.  A key part of this role involves pioneering experimental features that expand Roku's value proposition beyond content delivery, exploring new ways the platform can integrate into users' daily lives. The ideal candidate brings deep AdTech expertise, strong cross-functional communication skills, and a hands-on approach to building and testing custom advertising products. This is a highly collaborative and technically engaging role within Roku's Solutions Engineering team supporting Roku's video and display advertising business. For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. We're looking for curious, adaptable builders who can show how they've used AI or automation to move faster, raise the bar, and scale their impact. We value your AI skills if have built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain — coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks. And you can describe projects where you shipped real work with these tools. You know how to drive an agent, verify its output, and ramp on an unfamiliar codebase with an agent helping you. What are the responsibilities of the role? Design and implement custom advertising experiences that highlight Roku's unique market position as an OEM, entertainment platform, and TV OS Meet regularly with Product and Engineering teams to design and implement custom products within the ad tech stack Collaborate with QA Engineering teams to create and maintain regression test cases for new and existing products Test new and existing products and provide actionable feedback to Engineering on design and implementation Troubleshoot product issues, identify root causes, and escalate to Engineering teams as needed Write clear documentation and define detailed specifications for new products and features Review existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability Pioneer experimental features that expand Roku's value proposition beyond content delivery What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku? 5–10 years of experience in AdTech or MarTech at a publisher, DSP, SSP, ad network, or agency, ideally in a Solutions, Integrations, or Professional Services Engineering role 1–3 years of experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Datadog, Tableau, or similar, including the ability to develop custom dashboards and views Hands-on experience with SQL, Hive, or another database technology Experience trafficking digital video and other ad formats, including VAST and VMAP Demonstrated ability to provide technical support for external and internal stakeholders, particularly while overseeing complex integrations Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Sales teams Analytical mindset with a project-management orientation and a solutions-focused approach to work Experience partnering with Engineering teams to triage and resolve issues efficiently Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience #LI-AM3 What's Roku's approach to hybrid working?
