Special Education Teacher – Elementary Autistic Support
Devereux is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide services within Neshaminy School District's Elementary Autistic Support Program .
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly supportive educational environment focused on helping students with autism achieve academic, social, and behavioral success.
Position Highlights
Location: Neshaminy School District
Setting: Elementary Autistic Support Classroom
Class Size: Up to 8 students per classroom
Schedule: Full-Time, 10-Months: M-F: 8:50-3:35 pm . This position is aligned with the school calendar with opportunities for extended school year program in summer break
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year , based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities
Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment for elementary-aged students with autism.
Collaborate with related service providers, school staff, and families to support student growth and achievement.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to promote student success.
About DESS:
Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) provides support to schools around early learning, academic interventions, safety practices and the assessment and treatment of students with complex behaviors, cognitive challenges and communication needs. We use evidence-based practices with an emphasis on assisting school systems with special education populations.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required, Master’s degree in special education preferred. PA Department of Education certification as teacher preferred.
At least one year of experience in an educational setting working with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requires ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
Significant and frequent amounts of walking, standing and lifting of 10 lbs. or more is required. Must be able to present through verbal and written communication, as well as develop visual media.
Travel required as needs dictate. Requires repetitive use of wrists/hands/legs, including long periods of time operating office equipment.
Free of dependency and abuse of illegal drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances.
