The Sr. Supervisor – Quality Inspection supports the second shift (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM) by leading a multidisciplinary Quality Inspection organization spanning Receiving/BMRB/3PL operations, in-process and final inspection, CMM programming and metrology, NDT Level II operations (with on-site NDT Level III method authority), and Delegated Source Quality Representative (DSQR)/Source Inspection activities. The Sr. Supervisor sets direction, ensures adherence to aerospace and regulatory requirements, drives throughput and inspection rigor, and fosters a high-performing, compliant, and audit-ready culture.
The Sr. Supervisor oversees Group Leads and inspection personnel across all functions, including Levels II–IV Inspectors, CMM Leads/Programmers, NDT Level II personnel, DSQR/Source Inspectors, and Receiving/BMRB/3PL teams. The role requires experience or extensive knowledge across these disciplines to provide effective leadership, sound judgment, and escalation support.
This is an onsite leadership role. The Sr. Supervisor maintains a regular presence at the main facility, with periodic travel to the off-site 3PL, to lead teams, maintain inspection rigor, coordinate cross-site operations, and ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery. The Sr. Supervisor – Quality Inspection (M3) is accountable for inspection performance, workforce capability, and audit-ready execution across all inspection disciplines while partnering with the NDT Level III to support method authority and ensure compliant, high-quality Level II NDT operations.
What You Will Do:
Lead a large hourly workforce and front-line leaders by setting clear goals, priorities, and standards of performance and conduct.
Build staffing plans, schedules, and cross-site coverage (main facility and offsite 3PL); manage overtime and AOG responsiveness.
Own performance management, including coaching, development plans, feedback cycles, annual reviews, recognition, and corrective actions.
Cultivate a culture of safety, compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement; model disciplined documentation and fair acceptance decisions.
Lead daily tier meetings and visual management; communicate risks, bottlenecks, and recovery plans.
Ensure consistent interpretation and application of inspection criteria across mechanical, electrical, composite, and special process commodities.
Oversee Receiving/BMRB/3PL inspection operations, QN/MRB routing, supplier discrepancy resolution, and PO/specification flow-down.
Provide technical escalation for complex or borderline conditions, GD&T (ASME Y14.5) questions, and configuration management issues.
Direct CMM lab operations, including program standards, alignment strategies, probe and fixture control, ISO 10360 verification, correlation, and PC-DMIS governance.
Ensure Level II NDT staffing, scheduling, and execution quality meet production requirements.
Partner with the NDT Level III to maintain NAS410 compliance, including training, OJT hours, examinations, recertification, and system performance checks across FPI, film X-ray, digital X-ray (DDA/CR), and CT.
Verify NDT execution quality, documentation accuracy (including DICONDE digital image management and film archiving), and turnaround times.
Ensure EHS radiation and chemical safety training, PPE availability, and area readiness for NDT personnel; escalate systemic issues to the NDT Level III and Quality leadership.
Serve as the operational point of contact for NDT issues impacting production flow while supporting, but not replacing, NDT Level III technical authority.
Oversee DSQR/Source Inspection activities, including Acceptance Authority Media (AAM) control, customer portal workflows, FAIR validation, shipment release, and documentation packages.
Ensure calibrated equipment and metrology systems remain in tolerance and traceable; enforce gage status control and calibration recall adherence.
Maintain compliance with AS9100/AS9102, internal QMS procedures, and customer specifications while ensuring audit readiness.
Own or support controlled documents, including inspection procedures, work instructions, forms, and NAS410 written practices in partnership with the NDT Level III.
Ensure record retention, data integrity, and traceability for quality records, including SAP transactions, FAIRs, CoCs, special process certifications, traveler/build records, and DICONDE image
