Primary Function of Position
The Staff Process and Business Systems Analyst leads process, data, documentation, and business systems initiatives supporting Engineering transformation. The immediate focus is PLM 2.0 evaluation, selection, and implementation, along with Global Asset / Tool Management evaluation and deployment. This role combines business systems analysis, process design, engineering document control, and change management expertise to improve product lifecycle processes, documentation governance, data quality, compliance, and cross-system traceability across Engineering and downstream operational stakeholders.
As a Staff role, this position uses broad expertise and unique knowledge to contribute to company objectives, lead departmental and cross-functional projects, influence senior stakeholders, operate independently on complex issues, and coach colleagues in advancing technical and business expertise.
Roles and Responsibilities
PLM 2.0 evaluation and implementation : Lead platform evaluation, future-state process design, requirements management, fit-gap analysis, data readiness, testing, deployment, and adoption activities.
Global Asset / Tool Management : Lead or support asset lifecycle management strategy, process design, governance, requirements definition, system evaluation, implementation, and adoption planning.
Strategic initiative execution : Drive departmental and cross-functional initiatives from concept through completion; support resource, budget, sequencing, and implementation planning.
Business systems analysis : Translate business needs into process designs, requirements, acceptance criteria, test plans, reporting solutions, and implementation roadmaps.
Engineering change and documentation governance : Lead engineering document control, documentation lifecycle governance, ECO/ECR processes, traceability, and controlled documentation practices.
Product data and BOM governance : Support product data, BOM, CAD/PDM, ALM, QMS, ERP, and MES governance across connected business systems.
Cross-functional problem solving : Resolve complex process, data, compliance, and systems issues using independent judgment and clear evaluation criteria.
Implementation execution : Coordinate testing, business readiness, training, change management, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
Stakeholder influence : Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Service, Supply Chain, IT, and global sites to align priorities and drive execution.
Master data and digital thread readiness : Support product master data governance, metadata standards, ownership models, configuration control, digital thread enablement, and structured data reuse.
Mentorship and standards : Coach document specialists, analysts, and cross-functional users on documentation standards, change control discipline, PLM usage, process compliance, and business systems best practices.
Independently set priorities, drive outcomes with limited supervision, and escalate risks or decisions for senior stakeholder alignment.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business systems, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of related experience with a University degree; or 12+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
Broad expertise in Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering, multiple Business Systems, PLM, Document Control, or related regulated manufacturing environments.
Hands-on implementation experience with Oracle Agile or Oracle Cloud PLM preferred; Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia, or similar PLM platforms nice to have.
Experience supporting Global Asset Management, equipment / tool lifecycle management, maintenance / calibration process design, asset data governance, or related workstreams.
Strong understanding of Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Planning business processes and functionalities.
Experience supporting PLM evaluation, implementation, migration, major enhancement, process redesign, or platform consolidation initiatives.
Strong business systems analysis skills including requirements management, process mapping, fit-gap analysis, testing, and implementation support.
Strong foundation in engineering document control, change management, product documentation governance, BOM management, and traceability.
Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 13485, quality system expectations, electronic records, documentation controls, and audit-ready traceability.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and operate independently on complex business challenges.
Strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, prioritization, team player, coaching, and influence-without-authority skills.
