The Staff Counsel will provide a broad range of legal services and strategic advice to departments and business units across the Company. This role will support the management of litigation matters while also handling general legal activities, including the evaluation, drafting, and negotiation of contracts, particularly Master Service Agreements. Title and level will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Job Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to Support disputes and litigation matters, including pre-litigation investigation and risk analysis Partner with outside counsel; coordinate strategy, gather documentation, and assist with discovery and deposition preparation Evaluate and recommend options for dispute resolution Respond to subpoenas and related legal requests Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of company agreements, including: Master Service Agreements (MSAs) Information Technology agreements Accounting agreements Equipment leases and other commercial contracts Provide Legal guidance to departments on transactional and commercial matters Assist in managing outside counsel relationships and legal services Complete special projects and other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials Active admission to a state bar with eligibility to practice in-house in the State of Texas Five (5+) years law practice in a firm, governmental agency, or in-house Ability to learn and understand the business and operational functions of the Company in order to analyze and advise on litigation risk and assist in the management of litigation Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents effectively Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for this position.
