Note: All job offers are contingent upon Human Resources final approval Job Description: This recruitment will be used to fill 2 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) for the Materials Management (Campus Surplus, Recycling and Mailing) at Oregon State University (OSU). Materials Management (Campus Surplus and Recycling) is seeking student Computer Techs to join a team of students and professional staff that support OSU’s sustainability mission by helping to assess, recycle and refurbish a wide range of used computer and electronic equipment. https://surplus.oregonstate.edu/ https://recycle.oregonstate.edu/ The Undergraduate Student Facilities/Maintenance Worker performs light to heavy unskilled labor such as custodial or maintenance tasks for the purpose of upkeep and care of university buildings, facilities, or grounds. Position Duties: This position receives IT inventory, performs tests and refurbishes equipment as necessary for re-sale. Organizes, prices and lists items online. Assist with sorting, cleaning and staging surplus items for sale Use excellent customer service with public, department and agencies that visit the warehouse. Transport materials: Assist with recycling or surplus pickups or moves. Warehouse maintenance. Cleaning and preparing recycling bins and carts. The use of university-owned vehicles will support the transportation of a wide variety of materials across campus. Driving and safety training is provided by a Materials Management Lead Staff. Sorting recyclable materials. Required Qualifications Understanding of computer components. Understanding of operating systems Willingness to work as a team member. Willingness to learn to drive a box truck and a standard pickup truck. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed. Training and use of moving equipment such as hand trucks to move heavier materials is provided.
