We   seek   empathetic, observant, and dependable individuals who communicate clearly, model calm under pressure, and support trauma-informed care.   The Substance Use Disorder Technician provides direct and supportive care to clients/patients by   monitoring   day-to-day activities,   observing   and documenting behavior,   assisting   with vital signs and health monitoring, intervening in   crises   and communicating with the treatment team,   facilitating   group and structured activities, and transporting clients as needed. This role supports a safe, therapeutic environment and requires adherence to program policies,   accurate   documentation, and active participation in the treatment team.   This position offers…   •  Employee Assistance Program  – 24/7 counseling services, legal assistance, & financial consultation for you and your household at no cost    •  Mileage Reimbursement  – Company paid for work functions requiring travel   •  Employee Discounts  – Hotels, Theme Parks & Attractions, College Tuition   •  Workplace Culture  - An environment cultivating employee wellbeing, valuing each individual's humanity, and actively promoting a healthy, joyful workforce   •  Additional Perks & Benefits  - Scroll down to bottom of this post to learn more   Key Responsibilities:   • Supervise and engage with clients—lead activities, groups, and recovery skills sessions that promote adaptive behavior and social connection   • Monitor clients’ health and safety—obtain and record vital signs, observe signs/symptoms of withdrawal, and escalate to medical staff when critical issues arise   • Support medication processes—observe and document self-administration or staff administration of medications, monitor OTC inventory/storage, and report discrepancies per policy   • Provide direct personal care as needed (grooming, bathing, dressing) in residential settings and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes   • Facilitate urine collection and testing, document results, and process lab send-offs following policy   • Complete accurate shift reports and electronic medical record documentation; communicate behavior or clinical concerns to the treatment team and supervisor promptly   • Conduct client supervision checks, bed checks, and ensure clients are present for scheduled activities   • Provide client transportation to appointments when required and practice safe driving per agency standards   • Maintain a safe, clean environment, report maintenance/safety issues, and follow all program policies and procedures   • Participate in treatment team meetings, trainings, and required certifications; complete mandatory state/CARF trainings and agency onboarding   Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:   • High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment   • Experience in human services or a related field preferred   • Exceptions to qualifications may be made by the appropriate Executive Team member   • For St. Louis County programs: Bachelor’s Degree OR MAADC I or II   • For Residential Care Facility (RCF): credentialing as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and Insulin Certification within the first 90 days in position   Additional Qualifications:   • Must successfully complete background checks (criminal, driving record, abuse/neglect, fingerprinting)   • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required   • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within three (3) months of hire and maintain renewals   • Complete Medication Administration training per program standards and Behavioral Management training (CPI for residential or Crisis Management on Relias for outpatient) within required timeframes   • Achievement of required training hours per state regulation (e.g., 36–40 hours as applicable)   • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company-owned vehicle (23 for 15-passenger van)   • For Kirksville RCF staff, Illinois staff, and Kansas Residential staff: evidence of being free from infectious disease (e.g., TB) prior to hire and annually   • For Adolescent program: complete adolescent-specific training within six (6) months   Physical Requirements   • Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force  frequently ; repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing/writing   • Primarily sitting with occasional walking or standing for brief periods; meets ADA considerations for sedentary roles   Keywords: behavioral health technician, substance use disorder, recovery services, vital signs, medication administration, group facilitation, trauma-informed care, residential care, client supervision, CPR/First Aid   Position Perks & Benefits: Paid time off: full-time employees receive an attractive time off package to balance your work and personal life Employee benefits package: full-time employees receive health, dental, vision, retirement, life, & more Top-notch training: initial, ongoing, comprehensive, and supportive Career mobility: advancement opportunities/promoting from within Welcoming, warm, supportive: a work culture & environment that p
