Position Overview:
The Supplier Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting supplier food safety, quality, and compliance programs across the supply chain. This role’s primary focus will be managing the temperature monitoring program for cold-chain products, supporting supplier qualification and onboarding activities, assisting with onsite supplier food safety audits, tracking product complaints and initiating root causes analysis and corrective action with supplier partners, and partnering cross-functionally with FSQA, Operations, Product Development, and Procurement to ensure compliant execution of new and existing products, including Limited Time Offer (LTO) initiatives.
The Supplier Compliance Specialist will help monitor supplier performance and compliance through data analysis, trend reporting, complaint investigations, and corrective action follow-up. This role also supports investigations related to supplier quality and food safety concerns, evaluates supplier documentation and change notifications, and helps identify and mitigate supply chain food safety risks.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Cold Chain Temperature Monitoring
Manage and maintain temperature monitoring programs across refrigerated and frozen supply chain products
Review and trend temperature data from transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
Investigate temperature excursions, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Maintain records and documentation related to temperature monitoring and cold chain compliance
Supplier Food Safety & Compliance
Assist with onsite supplier food safety and quality audits.
Assist with reviewing and verifying current product and supplier documentation via CMX1
Track supplier corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings and non-conformances
Respond, track, and investigate product complaints with respective suppliers, including analysis of root case and corrective action implementation.
Cross-Functional LTO Support
Partner with Operations, Product Development, and Procurement teams to support compliant execution of LTO (Limited Time Offer) products
Assist in verifying product specifications, handling requirements, shelf life, labeling, and storage expectations
Participate in new product and supplier onboarding and qualification activities

Job Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science , Microbiology, Supply Chain, or related field.
2 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing food safety, supplier quality, quality assurance, or supply chain compliance.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, preventive controls, and food safety systems.
Understanding of cold chain management and temperature-sensitive product handling.
Experience working with suppliers, audits, and corrective action management preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality/compliance management systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PCQI or HACCP certification preferred.
Experience with GFSI schemes (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, etc.).
Knowledge of FDA food safety regulations and supplier verification requirements.
Experience with supplier management platforms or compliance software (e.g., CMX1, TraceGains , Safefood 360).
Location Requirement:
This role is located in Tempe, AZ. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days
Physical Requirements:
In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
Mobility : Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches . Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
