Job Description Senior Manager ,   Cell   and Gene Therapy   Commercial   Supply Chain   – Commercial Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Boston)   The   Senior M anager   o f Cell and Gene   Therapy   Commercial Supply Chain   will   drive   slot   management   operations   to support Vertex’s   autologous   c ell and gene therapy   program.     The   slot management   model   include s   dynamic ,   short   range, and   situatio nal   planning and operations   to allow   visibility and   patient scheduling .   The   Senior Manager   will   be responsible for   establishing ,   maintaining, revising, and   executing   slot   management   rules and principles   to ensure patients are appropriately scheduled   within   manufacturing   capacity and regulatory requirements.   This includes chairing   CDMO and   cross-functional   meetings and   driving   content of   key presentations to cross-functional leaders .    Through cross-functional alignment, the   Senior Manager   will drive the   data   used in the   creation ,   maintenance , and usage   of   a   Key Performance   Indicators   (KPIs)   Dashboard . In this ro le, the   Senior Manager   will   be   responsible for   creating business processes and opportunities to ensure capacity utilization across the Supply Chain network.   This includes representation as key Supply Chain lead for cross-functional workstream s   and initiatives.   The   Senior Manager   will work closely with   key stakeholders   i ncluding   the   Finance,   Regulatory,   C ommercial ,   Logistics, Manufacturing,   and Vertex’s Cell and Gene Therapy Site.       Key Responsibilities:   Lead initiatives to deliver innovative and impactful business results   by   leveraging   knowledge of   CGT Supply Chain processes .   Proactively   identify , document, and resolve risks through the Risk Management program.   Compliantly drive issues to resolution   Apply   expertise   of CGT Supply Chain   and enable development of that   expertise   within the team and cross-functionally   Interacts with senior level management   Create content for   executive level presentations on critical supply chain issues, initiatives, and projects.   Participate in creating   functional/department goals    Drive system   requirements, compliance, testing, and   utilization   to meet   the needs of patients.   Support the development of potential agentic AI solutions for slot management by contributing to solution design, cross-functional discussions, and practical recommendations that help shape scalable and effective approaches.   Identify   and implement new processes and capabilities needed to support   Cell and Gene Therapy   programs .   Anticipate future industry trends   and keep abreast with   a   strong   foundation   of knowledge of manufacturing, development, and supply   Minimal Requirements:    Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline preferred, or equivalent years of relevant experience   6+ years of Biotech, Pharmaceutical or medical device company related work experience   Ability to analyze straightforward problems and develop   possible solutions   using technical experience and judgment; may escalate unusual or complex problems     Ability to effectively balance customer expectations with internal/team expectations     Exhibits robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines   Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity   Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness   High level understanding of GMP processes and regulatory requirements   Strong written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant, and at times complex, information cross-functionally and ensuring understanding   Pay Range: $133,600 - $200,400 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
