Job Description: Newly opened Uchiko in Miami Beach ,  is hiring  Sushi Chefs ! In this role, you will serve as vital member of our team to enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests. We offer gainful employment. Sushi Chefs can expect the following in estimated compensation : Sushi Chefs are paid an hourly rate and receive tips.   The average hourly rate for Sushi Chefs (base pay + tipout) is estimated at $25 per hour. What you'll do in this role: Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grows Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu! James Beard Award winning Chef, Tyson Cole, celebrates traditional Japanese cuisine and blends the creative expression of some of the Nation's most talented culinary voices.  Basic Qualifications: Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory and perform restocking duties Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods Bend, stoop and reach to access various areas and items Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements. Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives.
