Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Technical Director and Deputy Project Director to join our team!
In this role the Technical Director provides technical leadership and direction across Civil Works, Rail Systems, Rolling Stock, Integration, and Safety Assurance on a prestigious metro project. The role additionally acts as Deputy Project Director on the project.
What You'll Be Doing:
In delivering the metro project, you will be responsible for the following:
Technical leadership and direction across the Civils and Rail Systems disciplines
Leading multi-disciplinary design reviews and approvals of the D&B Contractor’s designs and technical submittals for Civil Works (stations, tunnels, viaducts, depots, architecture, MEP, BIM), Rail Systems (full suite), Rolling Stock, Interface Management, and Systems and Safety Assurance
Technical performance and works progress of the engineering services
Ensuring: Design progress is in accordance with the Project schedule
Coordinated designs and seamless integration between civil and systems disciplines
Design compliance with Employer and Contract requirements, Standards, and best practices
Chairing high-level design reviews and leading Design Control Point gate reviews
Undertaking technical reviews, providing technical recommendations, taking technical decisions, and reviewing and accepting engineering change requests and value engineering proposals
Interfacing with client leadership, the D&B Contractor, key stakeholders and regulatory authorities, and representing The Engineer’s team at the highest technical level
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Master’s Degree and Professional Engineering registration is preferred.
Minimum 25+ years of rail engineering experience, with at least 10+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure and rail systems, with technical depth across the multidisciplinary rail domain.
Proven experience in the design and/or design review of metro rail civil works and rail system.
Proven significant experience and involvement in large-scale new-build metro rail projects.
Proven experience of delivery in a PMC/Engineer role on Design & Build metro rail projects
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in integration, testing and commissioning of civil works, rail systems and rolling stock
Experience presenting to Client executive-leadership and key stakeholders
Experience working in the Middle East region
