Job Description: JOB TITLE:  Pest   Professional        REPORTS TO:    Service Manager   DATE UPDATED:    3/23/2021                            FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT:    Service   Position Summary:    Provide pest control services to homeowners, property managers, and businesses and use opportunities to obtain long-term clients through the sale of a regular service program.  Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities to add new clients to route.   Ge neral Purpose:    Provide pest control services to clients.   Position Responsibilities:     Perform quality pest control services and management for residential and commercial customers on your route as well as one-time and warranty services.   Always have a mindset to work safely on the job.   Visually inspect for pests, pest harborage, entry points, etc.  And communicate findings to the customer.   Apply pesticides and rodenticides within the confines of the Law.   Use required personal protection an d safety equipment.   Maintain your vehicle inside and out.  Keep it stocked as needed.  Keep products, equipment, and chemicals properly stowed.  Keep it clean, neat, and organized.  Schedule repairs and routine maintenance with your supervisor.   Submit all   paperwork and customer payments on time, complete, accurate, and in proper order.   Review route in advance of   workday   and advise office of any requested changes.   Be knowledgeable and follow all State regulations and safety procedures.   Take advantage of opp ortunities to sell additional Company products and services to existing customers and to recognize and report sales leads and opportunities to managers.   Coordinate with other departments and technicians to insure completion and customer satisfaction.   Attend required training meetings.   Other duties as assigned.   Essential Skills and Experience:   Communication: Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.   Customer Service: Strong customer service skills.   Basic computer, and email skills.   Ability to work in a team-based environment with good judgment and decision-making ability.   High school diploma or equivalent.   Pest Control licensing and continued training -expert.   Become a Certified Operator within 6 months of employment.   Complete Purdue University coursework or other seminars as assigned by your supervisor.   Some prior pest control experience extremely beneficial.   Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor   vehicle record.   Physical Demands and Work Environment:   Physical ability to perform the work including bending, lifting, carrying 50   lbs   of equipment, kneeling, crawling, entering confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolds.   Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate a ppropriate reports.   Requires dexterity and data entry skills.   Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.   Occasional high stress work may require dealing with customers.   Must understand vague and implicit   instructions, and   react   favorably in all work situations.   Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.   Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.   Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a   professional manner.   Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.   Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written   materials   and articulate goals and actions plans.  M ust understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them   NOTE:  This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.  The employee will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by their supervisor.  Nothing in this job description shall create or is intended to   create, or   shall be construed to constitute a contract of employment, express or implied.
