Telephone Operator, Full Time Day

Job Description​ Saint Luke’s  in Smithville   is seeking a Telephone Operator to join our team. You will have the opportunity to answer   inbound calls to the switchboard   and   distribut e   the calls to the   appropriate department   or individual.   This position h andles all emergency events in a calm and efficient manner following the established process for the facility in which the emergency event occurs.   Shift Details : Every Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; every Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; and every other Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. This position will primarily be located at our Smithville campus. Training and coverage will happen at Saint Luke's Hospital as well. Responsibilities :   Provides helpful information to internal and external callers   Maintains detailed documentation in the   appropriate communication   logs   Dispatches Security requests using   two way   radios   in a timely manner   Monitors alerts and alarms    Notifies   appropriate departments   or individuals when   required   Assists   with mentoring and training of new employees   We are looking for someone   with exceptional interpersonal skills and empathy for those in crisis. The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize work, and manage interruptions easily. To be successful in this role,   strong customer service skills, willingness to work,   adaptab ility   and   an   eager ness   to learn   is   required .
