Position Summary   The Vice President of Training is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing training and onboarding programs for regional and centralized operations team members across a diverse healthcare workforce. This role ensures that employees within operations are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver best in class patient care.   The VP of Training will lead the evolution of modern learning strategies, including remote, hybrid, and digitally enabled training models, to support a geographically dispersed workforce and the growing demand for flexible, scalable education solutions.   Who are you?   We are seeking an operational training executive who has:   Led nationwide training organizations supporting frontline healthcare operations   Managed managers of trainers across multiple regions   Supported large populations of non-licensed healthcare employees   Built training programs tied directly to productivity, quality, compliance, customer experience, and operational performance   Led onboarding and ongoing training for remote, hybrid, and onsite employees   Partnered extensively with operations leaders to drive workforce readiness and performance outcomes   Experience supporting pharmacy operations, healthcare services operations, patient support operations, customer service operations, care coordination teams, revenue cycle functions, or similar healthcare operational environments is strongly preferred.   Key Responsibilities   Strategic Leadership   Lead the Education, Practice, and Standards team, along with Regional Training and Onboarding & Experience teams, collectively responsible for training and onboarding approximately 75% of all new hires—from day one through their first five weeks of employment.    Developing strong relationships with operations leaders across the business to understand and anticipate needs to evolve the training programs regularly to meet the needs of a growing business.    Champion innovative learning models, including remote and hybrid training solutions, to support distributed teams   Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on workforce capability, reskilling, and digital learning transformation   Remote & Digital Learning Strategy   Design and scale remote training programs to support frontline, remote, and hybrid employees across multiple locations   Lead the adoption of virtual instructor-led training (VILT), e-learning modules, microlearning, and mobile-first training experiences   Ensure all remote learning is engaging, interactive, and aligned with adult learning principles   Optimize asynchronous learning opportunities to support geographically dispersed teams   Technology & Innovation   Oversee Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), ensuring seamless access for remote learners   Drive the use of advanced learning technologies, including AI-driven personalization, virtual reality (VR), and analytics tools   Implement data-driven insights to measure engagement, skill acquisition, and training effectiveness across virtual environments   Operational Excellence   Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure training effectiveness, including remote learner engagement, completion rates, and competency outcomes   Continuously improve training strategies based on data, feedback, and patient care outcomes   Manage budgets, vendors, and external training partnerships   Qualifications   Education & Experience   Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred   12–15+ years of progressive experience in learning & development or workforce training supporting healthcare frontline operations.   5+ years in a senior training leadership role within a healthcare environment   Demonstrated experience leading remote or large-scale training initiatives for a geographically dispersed workforce, encompassing a variety of unique operational requirements, regulatory considerations, and regional nuances.   California residents employed by or applying for work at Shields have certain privacy rights.
