Victim Assistance Volunteer Advocate

GENERAL DUTIES: Performs a variety of duties related to Victim Assistance Guidelines. Will work with officers and other law enforcement advocates to contact victims of crime to offer support, information, counseling and resources as a Victim Assistance Advocate. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to victims of crime Help victims regain their physical and emotion well being by means of crisis intervention and advocacy. Assess the needs of victims and makes the appropriate referrals Provide for rights of victims as indicated in the Colorado Constitutional Amendment giving victims rights. Provide for death notifications as requested by the Coroner's Office or other requesting agency.
