OVERVIE W OF POSITION /   DEPARTMENT    Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and   collection , public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health.   The Water Utility Lead Worker - Pumping p erforms skilled, semi-skilled and manual labor duties in the operation, maintenance and repair of pump/lift stations   and tanks/fore bays   operating in the raw, potable, reuse and irrigation water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems   and wet wells .   Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on Pump/lift stations   Oversees and reviews work and work crews  Leads work on complex or elevated assignments  Independently plans and leads assigned projects  Operates and maintains specialized equipment that pertains to the operation of pump/lift stations   Coordinates daily work activities  Provides, prepares, maintains maintenance records and reports on work activities and equipment   Identifies and troubleshoots pump/lift station concerns  Trains and evaluates assigned personnel  Responds to pump/lift station emergencies  Performs snow removal activities  Participates in confined space entry rescuer program  Performs other related duties as assigned  The listed primary duties and responsibilities are not a comprehensive list of expectations for the job. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS An equivalent combination of education, training, and specific experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.   Education: High school diploma or GED  Experience:     Three years of experience with leadership roles in operation, maintenance and repair activities associated with pump/lift station infrastructure  Knowledge:  Has an advanced understanding of pump and lift station operations  Has an advanced working knowledge of the distribution and collection systems  Knowledge of hazards, practices, policies & procedures related to pump/lift station operation, maintenance and repair  Knowledge of pump/lift station operation to include; start/stop pump sequence, level controls in wet wells, running pumps in hand vs. auto, lead-lag pump sequencing, electrical equipment reset procedure and protocol, mechanical equipment reset procedure and protocol  Equipment and tool operation as they pertain to the operation, maintenance and repair of pump/lift stations  Thorough understanding of the complex safety practices and procedures related to working in the vicinity of low, medium and high voltage electrical  Thorough knowledge of the hazards of working in raw sewage  Thorough knowledge of working in close proximity of rotating equipment  Thorough knowledge of confined space entry  Crane safety and operation  Skills:    Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools and portable pump operation  Skilled in training and monitoring of assigned personnel  Skilled to recognize hazards, troubleshooting and problem solving   Strong attention to detail  Abilities:    Ability to understand complex instructions and situations related to job assignments  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and contractors/vendors  Communicate effectively both orally and in writing   Ability to understand oral and written instructions  Effective use of computers and electronic devices    Effectively lead a diverse workforce  Ability to provide documentation and feedback related to employees and work assignments   Organize and coordinate daily work activities   Ability to solve problems with resolution on work sites  Ability to work overtime and respond within a 45-minute response time  Licenses and Certifications Required:    Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required Colorado Wastewater Collection 2 or Water Distribution 2  Ability to obtain Crane Operator Certification within one year of hire  WORKING CONDITIONS   Essential Personnel:   When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the Cit
