As a Product Engineer for observability, you will work with our cross-functional global team of product engineers, developers, and writers to design and implement the best observability patterns with a particular focus on leveraging AI and data‑driven techniques to deliver automated root cause analysis and intelligent sizing recommendations. You will be actively involved with designing, writing, building, and delivering existing and next generation ArcGIS Enterprise observability using software development and quality assurance practices.
Responsibilities
Translate customer needs and industrial trends into technical requirements for future ArcGIS Enterprise software releases
Design and evolve end-to-end observability pipelines, spanning metrics, logs, traces, and events, across ArcGIS Enterprise deployments
Contribute to the design of AI Driven Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capabilities that accelerate troubleshooting and incident resolution
Partner on the design of data driven models to generate sizing and capacity guidance for customers
Collaborate with product engineers and development engineers on software project teams to build new ArcGIS Enterprise software releases
Share workflows in help topics, blog articles, presentations, tutorials, and samples
Troubleshoot and triage customer issues
Review and analyze automated test results, report status on software quality and stability, and certify software quality
Requirements
5+ years of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS platform technologies
Solid foundation of observability concepts: metrics, logs, traces, SLIs, SLOs
Hands-on Experience with Prometheus / Grafana
Robust experience developing and implementing test plans and test automation
Experience working with Python, Java, or other scripting languages
Strong experience translating customer needs (in observability) into technical requirements for the team
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Proven ability to build and deliver quality software in a team environment
Strong time management and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field
Recommended Qualifications
Experience with capacity planning, performance and chaos engineering
Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning concepts, especially as applied to operational data
Working knowledge of Kubernetes resource management (requests/limits, throttling, OOMs)
Hands on experience building or operating large scale distributed systems
Experience designing, deploying solutions in AWS and/or Azure
Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $93,600 — $159,328 USD The Company
