What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications):
Education & Licensure:
Licensure: Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited school of nursing required; a Bachelor’s (BSN) or Master’s (MSN) degree in nursing is highly preferred.
Credentials: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
Transportation: Valid California Driver's License with an eligible driving record.

Preferred Experience:
One (1) year of direct clinical experience treating individuals with mental illness.
One (1) year of supervisory or nursing leadership experience within a behavioral health facility.
Competencies & Compliance:
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a diverse nursing team.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients, staff, physicians, and community partners.
Must successfully pass a mandatory background check, criminal record clearance, and drug screening.
How you will make a difference :
The Nursing Department Supervisor ensures every Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) client receives the highest quality of nursing care, treatment, and medication as ordered by the attending physician or psychiatric nurse practitioner. This position is responsible for selecting, hiring, and supervising all Nursing Department staff, while also aiding in the development of service objectives, nursing policies, and job descriptions. The Supervisor maintains leadership that aligns with agency goals and ensures departmental adherence to all governmental and stakeholder regulations. The role also involves participating in budget development and collaborating with both internal and external departments to facilitate smooth facility operations and optimize patient care.
Division/Program Overview:
The Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) is a voluntary, 24/7 voluntary, provides immediate crisis intervention and stabilization in an unlocked setting. Open to all age groups—children, adolescents, adults, and older adults—the center is designed to support anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. With stays up to 23 hours, the goal is to provide rapid mental health assessment and services to ensure a safe transition to the next level of care or back to the community.
