What You’ll Do:
The Data Center Operations team is responsible for the performance, uptime, and continuous improvement of all CoreWeave data center facilities. This team ensures our infrastructure is robust, efficient, safe, and capable of supporting our hyper-growth by managing everything from power and cooling to safety and compliance.
About the role:
As the Regional Director for the U.S. South Central, you will lead operations across multiple data center sites, setting regional standards for performance, reliability, safety, and operational excellence. This role requires regular on-site presence to conduct audits, support emergency response, mentor local teams, and ensure consistent execution in the field.
You will guide site leadership, manage regional budgets and forecasts, and serve as the primary escalation point for critical incidents. You will also drive capacity planning and growth readiness, aligning MW, rack space, staffing, and workforce plans to customer demand, product roadmaps, and long-term infrastructure strategy.
Using KPIs, SLAs, dashboards, and operational data, you will track uptime, incident response, maintenance execution, safety performance, and regional readiness. You will standardize SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs across sites, ensuring documentation is current, auditable, and consistently followed.
You will partner with Product, Network Engineering, Security, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, HR, vendors, and service providers to support new deployments, manage risk, optimize costs, and keep regional priorities aligned. You will also represent the region in executive forums, providing clear updates on capacity, risk, performance, staffing, and operational health.
The ideal candidate will be based near a data center hub within the territory — Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama — and should expect frequent travel throughout the region.
In this role, you will:
Ensure data center uptime and SLA adherence across the region
Oversee incident response performance, escalation effectiveness, and post-incident corrective actions
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance execution
Ensure safety performance and compliance readiness
Drive capacity readiness across MW, rack space, and staffing
Manage regional budget performance, vendor performance, and cost optimization
Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational data across tooling and reporting systems
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
10+ years of experience in critical facility operations, with at least 5+ years in a senior management or multi-site leadership role within data centers or a similar mission-critical environment
Experience scaling data center operations in a cloud, hyperscale, GPU, or HPC environment
Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed, 24/7 operations teams, including frontline managers and individual contributors
Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear regional execution plans, with a track record of delivering against aggressive timelines in high-growth environments
Skilled at navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, communicating clearly and calmly with executives, partners, and on-site teams — especially during high-pressure incidents
Experience managing large-scale capital and operational budgets
Thorough knowledge of data center infrastructure, including cooling, power, fire suppression, security, and networking
Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as Uptime Institute, ISO, OSHA, and local building/environmental codes
Frequent travel, up to 40%, across the South Central territory is required to support multi-site operations and incident management
Must be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work in the event of critical incidents or emergency escalations
Ability to work in environments with high noise levels and temperature variations
Must be able to traverse data center floors and mechanical galleries to conduct inspections and oversee operations
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field
Proficiency with Data Center Infrastructure Management tools and building management/facility monitoring systems
Change management expertise with demonstrated success implementing process, technology, and organizational improvements
Experience building KPI dashboards, executive reporting, and operational scorecards across multi-site environments
