SUMMARY Q2 is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the global Accounting & Consolidations team. In this role, you will own expense accounting and analysis, serve as the primary liaison between accounting and the business on expense treatment and coding questions, and support the monthly close process, financial reporting, and internal and external audits. As the team continues to invest in AI-assisted close processes, you will serve as the human in the loop reviewing outputs, applying judgment, and maintaining accountability for outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex accounting scenarios, enjoys digging into the “why” behind the numbers, and takes ownership of building efficient, well-controlled processes. The ideal candidate has firm knowledge of GAAP, strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position reports to the Director, Accounting & Consolidations. RESPONSIBILITIES Own expense treatment analysis and serve as the primary escalation point for AP and f inance on coding questions, ensuring consistent application of accounting policy   Partner with f inance and business stakeholders as the accounting liaison for expense impact, budget alignment, and period-end inquiries   Support expense tracking and forecasting, including analysis of usage-based and commitment-type contracts requiring close attention to accrual timing and treatment   Prepare monthly variance analysis and flux commentary for areas within scope, providing clear narrative for leadership reporting   Review and approve month-end accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accordance with GAAP   Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls   Ensure financial transactions are executed properly and documented in compliance with GAAP, SOX 404, and company policies   Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, driving automation, accuracy, and efficiency in partnership with the team’s AI initiative   Work cooperatively across the organization to achieve shared objectives and support acquisition integration activities as needed   Adhere to all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls   EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; minimum 8 years of experience   CPA preferred   Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with SOX 404 compliance in a public company environment   Experience partnering with FP&A and business stakeholders on accounting matters   Advanced Excel skills   NetSuite or Oracle experience preferred   Active user of generative AI tools with a mindset toward continued adoption   Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills   Proactive and efficient, with a continuous improvement mindset   Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accounting audiences   Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment   Trustworthy and discreet with confidential data   This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
